It is officially the last day of April and we have been in quarantine for much longer than a month. Many of us are struggling, some mentally, others financially, but one thing is for certain - we will emerge from this better in many ways.
It's important to understand that whatever we spend all of this time on, is what we are going to come out from lockdown with. If you overeat, you will come out overweight, if you drink every day you will likely rely on alcohol for stress relief and put on weight. But if you spend this time investing in yourself, you will come out a better man/woman than you were going into the lockdown.
To cut the shit, I am not saying that you can't have a beer.. I'd be a liar if I said i'm not enjoying a pint of Guiness as i'm writing this! But I use it as a reward system, once I read that book I've been thinking about, once I spend time on bettering my business, once I have finished that workout, finished the gardening or cleaning the house - then I will allow myself to have a drink, enjoy a pizza or whatever you fancy.
To help you create a similar system, my advice is to go back to basics - pen & paper. Make a to do list and hit this every day - not a chore list but a "To Do" list - that way you take control of the type of day you are going to have.
Something that works for me when it comes to getting in the right frame of mind, I start my day with a breakfast/coffee and stroll or a bike ride - it helps clear your mind and get to work!
Try this out and let me know how it goes :)
